Tales From The Comics Experience

All great stories have a beginning.
This is ours.

Our first published work is “Tales From the Comics Experience”. Each of us was enrolled in Andy Schmidt’s inaugural online course “Introduction to Comic Book Writing”. Our assignment was to create a self-contained, five page story, complete with characters, plot, beginning-middle-end, conflict, resolution, protagonists, antagonists, adventure, excitement, true love and miracles (well, not necessarily the last two).

During the five week course, we learned the basics of storytelling in comic book format. We encouraged each other, critiqued each other and pushed ourselves to meet the ever-looming deadlines. Andy, our teacher, mentioned that other classes had compiled an anthology of their stories once they finished the class. Inspired by this idea, we all tracked down artists, inkers and letterers and got our stories published.
